Ok, so that job didn't exactly last long, but was only contract job anyhow.
Other than that the only that has happened is that I've been forced to move my website (habnet is closing down) - new addy of http://daimon.nykta.org (and I have finally added shinyrainbow into the links section)

so, yeah, if anyone knows of a nice IT-type-ish job going - please tell me :-D

So yeah, another post - and hasn't quite been six months yet!

As the title says I've finally got a job, albeit a three month contract, with Nokia in Farnborough as an EMC engineer (if you don't know what one is, either look or just don't ask - is easier that way).  I have been told there's a good chance of it being extended, and definitely some training involved as well, so yay on that front.

Also, having found out yesterday my website isn't being hosted by Aber any more I decided to move it (still free hosting, and add-free as well).  Seeing as how I was moving it I thought I may as well redesign it as well seeing as my old site was still using tables for positioning, and used only the most basic CSS - it is still in the process of being updated, mainly on deciding just what to put on the front page (any suggestions, unless good, will be ignored and/or thrown in the bin... but in a good way :-) )

Other than that I've just been reading/lazing about.  I have just read the fifth book in the Saga of the Seven Suns series that has just come out - Of Fire and Sun - taking all of two days for 720 pages - I really should find books that last longer :-S.  Now I've moved onto my sister's Alex Rider books (what, they're something to read...)

so yeah that's a long post, should keep certain people happy...

Boo!

Well what a time it has been - ages since I updated this - won't say this time I will remember though!

So what's been going on ...

Well since last posting:

I went to London - was fab but as always [info]devil_mj tried to fit too much in.  He wore me out - again!! (that sounded far less dodgy in my head)

Went to our May Ball which was fun, but a bit weird.  Main disappointment was the lack of bungee jumping this year, but Liberty X getting smoke-bombed sorta made up for it

I also drove some mates down to Swansea to watch XMen 2 not that long ago - what an ace film! Can't wait for the next one, though from what I've heard they still don't know if it's going to be set between some of the current films or a sequel.

Last few weeks have been full of problems, but still enjoyable cos of meeting some new people.  I'll be sorting it out tomorrow so at least its sorted (and hopefully happy) before I leave Aber into the big wide world.

I went home for an interview last weekend, and got an email the other day saying I didn't get it, which blows.  Just means even more job hunting and still not knowing where in the country I'll end up.  Other than that I've just been lazing about at home - taking a week off everything as it were.

Heading back to Aber tomorrow  for some fun in the sun (at which point I can also get back to using my computer instead of this crummy laptop)

Well I said I might be updating today, so here I am
The Shag-A-Thon went as well as I thought it would, with a grand time of just over 13 minutes (my excuse being lots of hills, and I'm sticking to it)
Although that being said, one of the runners (running as part of the AberPride team no less) decided to collapse a few minutes after crossing the finish line, and said hi to his mates from St John's Ambulance (who he does some training/socialising with) - he was fine etc
And we won a prize, for best costume!! (Perdy human rainbow... pretty colours....)

More blog-type-stuff maybe as more Shag-Week stuff happens!

I've got to start posting here more often... (refuses to count how many times I've said that so far).

Just being really confused at the moment, lots of work going into my dissertation, but its still not got very far :-S.  Got pin-outs and inputs sorta working, but not the important side of the implementation (like PWM or interrupts).  Ah well, better just keep going at it.

Other than coursework not much has been happening, I've started playing with http://xuqa.com and http://30boxes.net (30boxes looks as though it has a load more potential than any of the other ajax calanders out there), and thinking of updateing the look on my website (though will wait till after diss. has got somewhere - bad procastination)

Oooh yeah, there was this event in the Union the other night, "XXX Hypnotist: Tony Lee" - was sooo funny.  I went with a few mates, and two of them actually went up.  Won't go into more details here, but the photos are hilarious :-D.

Anyways, due out in Manchester soon (24th), so will update after that if nothing else. (either that or after the Shag-a-thon tomorrow - and before you think that it's a fun-run organised by the SU :-P)

But none of it was really that interesting.
I can't believe I got away without updating my LJ for almost 8 months before getting told off by Clare... that has to be some sort of record!!!
Anyways, since then I passed the uni year, got a 1/2 decent summer job, am got enlisted as Secretary for one society and Webmaster for another (still trying to work out how that happened)
Other than that nothing much has happened, I'm still with devil_mj, last year of uni is at least starting well, and I managed to get an interesting dissertation :-D (building a rover type robot)


Oh and before anyone even thinks about asking - there were NO hospital visits over the summer (though I did miss going to Brighton Pride for my B'day :-( )

I've had to go to a&e... again!! for another bang to my head!! I've got to stop doing that :-S (though this isnt quite as serious as last time, only couple of paper stitches, not that much blood and only 20 mins) - few interesting looks in the union after (grr at it all, couldnt drink for the rest of the night)

other than that was all good, and hopfully today is the last day I've got to do anything on the comp-sci group project and I can concentrate more on the robotics module :-)

wow, I can't belive the weekend I've just had - for St V's Mat took me to London for the weekend!!!! We went to Grenwich Royal Obervatory, National Science Museum and best of all - a trip on the London Eye - and sunset happening as we reached the top!!

Course is going well - still doing old boring stuff  in physics lecutres, but lab is fun - building a robot at the moment  :-D got to make it follow a line (which will be set up over the pond outside the physics building!), and get round a basic maze on its own.  The CS side of course is going ok, kinda interesting (but how interesting can algorithms and data structures be...)

umm, dont think theres much else happening at the moment, other than slight needage of a job in aber... (and a flatmate for next year if anyone in aber reads this!!!)

ok, so its been too long again - should be changing soon though :-)
Been a v.good, but busy weekend with Mat in London, bit of drinking, shopping etc (v.v. busy on Bond/Oxford/Regent street for some reason though....) Got back 9ish last night 'cos trains being awkward (but some nice people at Shrewsbury managed to get us back before 11, so not too bad).

As for this week, I've got 2 Comp-Sci projects on the go, a Physics project, and am being dragged to Swansea to join in on one of their LGB events (fairy ball - and I went as the devil...), and Cardiff with Mat and some of his work-mates for a shopping trip.
Other than that not been up to that much, the usual Rocky Horror night (pics being slow to get on the web for some reason, maybe it was the outfit I was wearing.. ;-) ) occasional bit of work.

(Hopefully this will keep clare off my back for a bit ;-) )

Ok, so I've left the journal too long again, but can give a decent update now :-)
Last Friday was my 20th birthday (boy do I feel old when I say that :-S), so not wanting to sit round in Surrey all weekend doing nothing I went up to Aber, where Devil_MJ had an amazing weekend planned, from a romantic meal out, to secluded lakes and waterfalls, even managed to go to the circus!!! (not forgetting the champagne either ;-) ). All in all it was a fantastic weekend, and I really wish I was back in aber now :-( but the job pays the bills, so got to keep with that for a bit - shouldn't be too long now though till am back for another year :-)

Anyway, will try and keep the journal updated more, but I wouldn't expect too much till I'm back at uni...

ok, so apart from nearly getting electrocuted at work nothing much has happened (mental note: next time count the number of power cable that have been disconnected and how many I'm cutting through and make sure they're the same...) - luckily was only air-condintioning power cables, so apart from being fairly low power, they were armoured as well (so I didn't take all the shock). Seem to be ok though :-) Other than that only thing that has really happened is I missed the pub lunch today 'cos I was in Thatcham and everyone else (and the pub) was in Basingstoke.... better luck next week

Had gr8 time yesterday, MJ came down to reading for the day, ended up general shopping, a movie (The day after tomorrow - is an alright film, sortof cross between volcano and vertical limit I thought...) and a meal. :-) Was great to see him again, now waiting for 2 weeks to pass so can see him again ;-)

Ok, so it's been far too long again since my last update, but with a 1/2 good reason: Only two interesting things have happened since my last post (and one of those only happened couple of days ago). The first, and main thing that happened is I got a new boyfriend :-D (yay for devil_mj ;-) ) and moved into new flat at aber (all of a week later came back home to surrey, but never mind :-P)
Second thing was my cousin came down for a bit, and told me start updating my Live-Journal more often... (also went out for few drinks, well, she did anyway. I somehow ended up driving her from fleet and back, which meant I had to stay sober...)

Anyways, that the interesting bits said, now for the rest of what ive been up to - and it can be summed up in all of one word: Work :-(. Can't really complain, as its better than working at Maccy-D's. (all sorts of EMC testing on phones etc). Bit hectic atm as just finished moving offices, but its keeping me busy.

ook - long time no post... *checks last post* :-|
eeerm k, whats happened since then... answer - not a lot. Standard student things like going home, sorting work and accomadation out, akward rel. stuff (v. confusing - dont ask) . Tried to get a tan over the week and failed miserably (although havnt gone 2 red either which is good) Had a really boring day! Revision sucks!!!

Though RELOAD!!! Tonight



Time to relax and spend time with a gr8 guy ;-). Marks leaving on Thursday so will be my last one with him :-(.

Not long now and I'll be telling how either (a) brilliant I did in my exams or (b) how i've been kicked off the course and dropped down to comp-sci

still recovering from an all-nighter in manchester over the weekend - went down with my boyfriend, and a couple of other mates. ended up in essential until about 4am, then spend till 9-ish freezing or getting something to eat..
all in all it was a great night out - but i'll remember my coat next time cos mancs is freezing!!!! outside
